Crime Commission Resources

As an advocate to the law enforcement community, and in its mission to reduce crime, the Broward County Crime Commission supports the major elements of the criminal justice system and works in cooperation with all Broward County municipal police departments, the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO), the State Attorney’s Office (SAO), the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), the Attorney General’s Office (AG) and other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies.

In its role as a Crime Commission, the Broward County Crime Commission acts as a facilitator between the citizens of Broward County, the business community, and the Criminal Justice System to help facilitate and address public safety issues and concerns.

The Commission was designed to gather information, bring those facts to the public’s attention and then refer the findings to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.

Finally, the Crime Commission makes recommendations to the Governor and other Federal and State Legislature bodies for potential improvements in laws associated with public safety that can better help law enforcement and better protect the citizens of Broward County.
