The Crime Commission indoctrinated its Counter Terrorism awareness initiative in 2007 as a community awareness function of the potential dangers. The Crime Commission has held Think Tank meetings with the Pembroke Pines Police department which works closely with the FBI South Florida Anti-terrorist Task Force.
On February 25th, 2004, the BCCC presented its anti-bioterrorism program to 20 law enforcement officers from eight local police departments, as well as the Broward Sheriff’s Office which was revered as a trend setting industry presentation.
The Crime Commission feels that it is extremely important for the general public to become involved in identifying suspicious persons and activities. Moreover, the public should train themselves to be extremely alert to unusual activities that seem to be out of the ordinary to the observer.
